3 Doors Down Rocks for 5th Annual Charity Event

It all started in 2003. The Better Life Foundation was named after 3 Doors Down’s most successful CD “The Better Life” (we want to give to as many children as possible, the better life.) over one million dollars has been raised.

5 years later The Better Life Foundation is still making a difference in the lives of children and young adults on the Gulf Coast.

On Dec. 6, 2008 3 Doors Down, Muzik Mafia and Switchfoot performed at the Hard Rock Casino Biloxi, MS for their 5th annual concert which raised over $270, 000.

The show was sponsored by the Mississippi Army National Guard who gave them an amazing escort to their benefit concert via 2 Blackhawk helicopters.

Before the show started a silent auction took place with numerous rock and sports memorabilia. A raffle was also held for an Army National Guard Dragon Chopper Citizen/Soldier bike custom made by Bourget Bike Works, Inc.

3 Doors Down made Kaleb Miller’s dream come true. He wanted to see 3 Doors Down in concert, not only did he get to see the concert but he got to hang out with the guys as well as having his guitar signed. Sadly Kaleb passed away shortly after the benefit. He surely will not be forgotten.

The band also met with children from the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of the Gulf Coast where they had breakfast with Santa and 3 Doors Down. The Better Life Foundation donated $10,000.00 to help improve the lives of these children.

After an exciting show that left fans wanting more, the band looks forward to doing it again in 2009.

A very special thanks to the National Guard, The Mississippi National Guard, the Hard Rock Biloxi and all the wonderful people who have donated their time and efforts to make the 5th Anniversary of The Better Life Foundation a huge success!

3 DOORS DOWN AND FRIENDS ROCK BENEFIT CONCERT

(Nashville, TN)- Multi-platinum group 3 DOORS DOWN recently held their 4th annual "The Better Life Foundation" Concert at the Hard Rock Casino & Hotel in Biloxi, MS with musical friends, Sara Evans and Musik Mafia members Jon Nicholson, Big Kenny (of Big & Rich), Shannon Lawson & Randy Hauser, and raised over $200,000 to benefit children's charities along the Gulf Coast area.

"To be able to be a part of 'The Better Life Foundation,' is truly a privilege for me," said band member Matt Roberts. "Over the past four years the foundation has been able to touch the lives of many along the Gulf Coast, my life included. I've truly learned what it means to give back to the community that has given so much to us. The annual benefit concert has been a great success and a joy to be a part of. This has simply been because of the people who have come out to support each year and enable us to continue to reach the goal of helping others."

The mission of The Better Life Foundation is all encompassing, to make positive changes in the lives of children, whether that be food, shelter or medical assistance to name a few. Each and every year the foundation works to raise funds to donate to various organizations and hospitals they believe will help them further this cause.

3 Doors Down is widely known as one of the most successful rock bands in modern day history with more than 18 million albums sold to date and six #1 singles to their credit. Known for such hits as "Kryptonite," "When I'm Gone" and "Here Without You", their style and sound are uniquely artistic and captivating. Stay tuned for their new album in spring of 2008!
